    Margaret Emerson Vanderbilt establishes the dynasty at Sagamore Farm.

  • The legend begins

    Twenty-one year old Alfred G. Vanderbilt II leaves Yale his junior year to run Sagamore Farm.

  • Champion for the year

    Native Dancer wins both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Finishes career winning 21 of 22 races.

  • History secure

    Native Dancer is inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

  • The cult movie visits the farm

    Scenes from Barry Levinson's classic Diner are filmed at Sagamore Farm.

  • Return to glory

    Kevin Plank, Maryland Native and founder of Under Armour purchases the farm, and Bourbon Maid gets the first win at Sagamore racing in decades.

    Kevin Plank


    Kevin Plank purchased Sagamore Farm in 2007. His passion for Maryland and Thoroughbred racing led him to implement a long-term restoration plan of the historic facility. His goal is to utilize Sagamore Farm as a platform to bring energy and winning back to Maryland thoroughbred racing and ultimately breed the next Triple Crown Winner.

    Bob Feld


    Just out of high school Feld began hot walking, then grooming horses for his brother Jude who was a trainer on the Southern California circuit. It was at this time that Feld decided he wanted to learn the horse business from the bottom rung up. His first foray into bloodstock came while looking for diamond-in-the-rough type claims while rubbing five horses a day in his brother's shed row.

    Ignacio Correas, IV


    Ignacio Correas, IV joined the Sagamore Farm team as lead trainer in 2009. Ignacio oversees all training operations at Sagamore Farm and prepares the horses daily work out schedules, helps determine race entries and is responsible for the health of the horses.

    H. Graham Motion


    Graham Motion, based in Fair Hill, Md., serves as an additional trainer for Sagamore Farm. He trains Sagamore Farm's Shared Account, the 2010 Breeders' Cup Fillies and Mare Turf (G1) World Champion. His Fair Hill based horse, Animal Kingdom, won the 2011 Kentucky Derby.
