Tiger Walk
Biography
A son of Tale of the Cat, Tiger Walk is a three year-old colt in training under Ignacio Correas IV. He made his debut on the turf at Saratoga Race Course on July 27, 2011 under jockey Jose Lezcano, finishing fourth; ran again at Saratoga on Aug. 27, and finished tenth; returned to Laurel Park and won his maiden on the turf, Nov. 3; switched to dirt and won his second consecutive race at Laurel Park on Dec. 14.; finished third in the Withers Stakes (GIII) at Aqueduct on Feb. 4, 2012, his first race as a three-year-old; put in a big effort down the stretch to finish fourth by a nose in the Gotham Stakes (GIII) at Aqueduct on March 3; aquired enough Graded Stakes earnings to be entered in the $1 million Wood Memorial (GI) at Aqueduct on April 7. Finished fourth in The Wood behind Ky. Derby starters Gemologist and Alpha.
Tiger Walk's name is inspired by the pre-game ritual for Auburn University’s football games. Tigers players walk to the stadium through students and fans that line up along Donohue Drive. Under Armour serves as the outfitter of the Auburn athletic program.
